GROUP VOICE LESSONS - $20 PER LESSON
Group voice lessons will be offered for anyone over the age of 12 and under the age of 16. This class is offered as a way to get younger children comfortable with their voice without damaging their vocals chords. Lessons will be held once a week after school for 90 minutes. In that time each student will learn basic music theory including reading rythyms, time signatures, key signatures and sight singing, and a little music history as well. Students will learn a wide range of songs from Broadway to Pop to Classical to Folk. Most songs will be sung as a group, so the students will also be taught to sing harmonies. There will be some solo opportunities in the two recitals each year. One recital will be classical and formal; the other will be more contemporary and fun. Students may be asked to provide their own music books. Tuition is $20 a lesson, per student.
PRIVATE VOICE LESSONS - $15 PER HALF HOUR/$25 PER HOUR
Private voice lessons will be offered to anyone over 16. This class is designed to teach the student how to use their voice as effectively and safely as they can. These lessons will be offered as either ½ hour or 1 hour sessions. Each student will be taught basic music theory including all of the things taught in group voice, but in more depth. The range of songs will also be the same only more difficult. Each student will be required to perform at least one piece in a foreign language such as Spanish, Italian or German in the classical recital. Each student will be required to provide their own music books. A book list will be provided at the first lesson. Tuition is $10 for a ½ hour lesson $20 for a full hour lesson.
SHOW CHOIR - $25 PER SESSION
The Show Choir is for anyone ages 8 to 18. This is designed to be a fun after school activity where kids can learn to work with each other. They will learn to sing and dance. They will be split into groups according to their age and ability. I am hoping to be able to have 3 groups. Everyone will be placed into a group, but auditions need to be held so that I can assess each kid’s abilities. Most songs will be sung as a group with harmonies, but solo opportunities will be available to anyone that wants one. We will have 3 big performances each year: one in the Spring one in the fall and one at Christmas time. Other small performances may arise though. Each group will practice once a week for an hour and ½ after school. When the time comes for performances, each child may need to provide a costume, or pay for their own outfit, such as a t-shirt. The kids will learn a variety of songs. The main purpose of these show choirs is to provide a safe, fun place for kids to interact with each other and learn something while they are at it. Each session will cost $25 per participant.
